The Instek GPT-9802 safety tester performs AC and DC withstanding tests; has RS-232C, USB, and optional GPIB interfaces for PC remote control and logging test results; and has indicators for Pass, Fail, Test, High Voltage, and Ready. It stores up to 100 manual tests and can run up to 16 manual tests sequentially as an automatic test. This safety tester was designed to accommodate safety standards such as IEC, EN, UL, CSA, GB, and JIS, for testing electronic products and components. Tests are conducted under high-stability voltage output with high-resolution measurement results. The output voltage begins at the zero crossing of a sine wave to avoid the impact of surge voltage output, and the output voltage automatically shuts off if irregular output voltage is detected or if the upper or lower current limits are reached. Test duration, ramp-up time, and upper and lower limits of the output voltage are adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of safety tests. The interlock function provides hardware key protection for voltage output. The tester has a signal I-O port to monitor tester status and input. The tester meets European Union (EN) standards 61010-1:2010 and 61010-2-030:2010.Specifications Test AC WithstandingOutput-Voltage Range0.100kV to 5.000kV ACOutput-Voltage Resolution2V/step Output-Voltage Accuracy+ or 1 (1% of setting + 5V) [no load]Maximum Rated Load200 VA (5kV/40mA) Maximum Rated Current40mA (0.5kVOutput-Voltage WaveformSine wave Output-Voltage Frequency50 Hz / 60 Hz selectableCurrent Measurement Range0.001mA to 40.0mA Current Best Resolution0.001mA / 0.01mA /0.1mACurrent Measurement Accuracy+ or - (1.5% of reading + 30uA) Test DC WithstandingOutput-Voltage Range0.100kV to 6.000kV DCOutput-Voltage Resolution2V/step Output-Voltage Accuracy+ or 1 (1% of setting + 5V) [no load]Maximum Rated Load50W (5kV/10mA) Maximum Rated Current10mA (0.5kVVoltmeter Accuracy+ or - (1% of reading + 5V) Current Measurement Range0.001mA to 10.0mACurrent Best Resolution0.001mA /0.01mA /0.1mA Current Measurement Accuracy+ or - (1.5% of reading + 30uA) Voltage testers detect electrical current in cables, cords, circuit breakers, switches, wiring, and other components of electrical systems. They can test for live circuits, proper grounding, adequate voltage, and flowing current. They might be used by homeowners to test electrical outlets or by linemen to test power lines. Available in a variety of styles and levels of sophistication, some models simply indicate the presence of electrical current, while others record or display the level of voltage conducted. Some have additional capability such as the ability to perform continuity tests.GW Instek manufactures test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal testers, and video surveillance systems. The company, founded in 1975 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9002 and 14001.What's in the Box?GPT-9802Power cordInterlock keyRemote terminal male plugTest lead GHT-114CTC (Calibration Traceable Certificate)Instructions
